This Privacy Policy describes how ForgeTech (“ForgeTech,” “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the Mooden mobile application (the “App”), available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
This Policy is designed to help you understand our practices and to support Apple App Store and Google Play disclosure requirements. It is not legal advice.
If you do not agree with this Policy, do not use the App.
Controller / publisher: ForgeTech, publisher of Mooden.
Company name: ForgeTech
Application: Mooden
Address: Shahrah-e-Liaquat, Karachi, Pakistan
Email: support.forgetech@gmail.com
Please include “Mooden privacy” in the subject so we can route your request.
We do not require you to create a ForgeTech user account or give us an email address to keep a local journal.
This Policy applies to the Mooden iOS and Android apps and related in-app purchases processed through Apple, Google, and RevenueCat.
It does not apply to third-party websites, stores, or services that we do not control (including Apple, Google, and RevenueCat), except to describe how Mooden uses them.
Mooden is built as a local-first journal:
When you use Mooden, the App stores on your device, as applicable:
ForgeTech does not receive this journal content on our servers.
If you turn on Google Drive backup, Mooden uses Google Sign-In so the App can write and read a backup in your Google account’s hidden app data folder (drive.appdata). That may include:
Google’s terms and privacy policy apply to your Google account. You can stop backup by signing out or deleting the backup through Mooden / Google.
If you buy Mooden Premium or restore purchases, Apple or Google process the payment. RevenueCat processes purchase receipts and related subscription status so the App can unlock Premium.
This typically includes:
RevenueCat, Apple, and Google do not receive your journal notes, photos, or voice memos from Mooden for this purpose.
Mooden may use Firebase Analytics (Google) to record privacy-safe events, such as that an entry was created or edited (with booleans like whether a note/photo/voice/activities were present—not the content), that an entry was deleted, that data was cleared, or that backup/restore succeeded or failed.
Mooden may also use Firebase Crashlytics (Google) to collect crash logs and diagnostics when the App fails unexpectedly. That typically includes stack traces, app version, device model / OS version, and related technical metadata needed to fix bugs. Crash reports are not designed to include your journal notes, mood scores, diary dates, photos, voice memos, or PIN codes.
These analytics and crash events are not designed to include:
Firebase may process device and app metadata that Google’s Analytics and Crashlytics SDKs normally collect (for example app version, OS, country/region as inferred by Google, and a Firebase installation identifier). See Google’s privacy documentation for Firebase.
Mooden does not use the App for third-party advertising, does not sell your information, and does not use your journal to build advertising profiles.
Depending on how you use Mooden, the App may request:
You can deny permissions in system settings. Some features will not work without them.
We do not require, and the App is not designed to collect, as a condition of basic journaling:
We use information only to:
We do not use journal content to train public AI models, and we do not sell personal information.
If you are in a region that requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on:
You may withdraw consent in device settings or by stopping use of an optional feature. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out.
We share information only as needed with:
Each provider processes data under its own terms and policies. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share journal content with advertisers.
We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or the App, only to the extent we actually hold that information (which, for journal text, is typically none on ForgeTech servers).
We use reasonable technical measures appropriate to a local-first app, including:
No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure. You are responsible for your device passcode, store account, and Google account.
Apple, Google, and RevenueCat may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, those providers use contractual and other safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) as described in their documentation. By using optional cloud, analytics, or purchase features, you understand that such transfers may occur.
Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, UK, or California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, or to portability and to withdraw consent.
Because Mooden keeps the journal on your device, the most effective way to access or delete journal content is in the App (view, edit, delete, export CSV, Clear all data) or by deleting a Drive backup you created.
For purchases and analytics identifiers held by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat, you may also use those companies’ privacy tools, or email support.forgetech@gmail.com and we will help where we can.
Mooden does not create a separate ForgeTech username or password. Optional Google Sign-In is only for Drive backup.
To delete Mooden-related access and data:
Step-by-step instructions, including what is deleted versus retained, are published on our Delete account and data page (linked from the Google Play store listing when required).
California: We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are used in the CCPA/CPRA for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that require a right to limit, because we do not collect journal content on our servers. Contact support.forgetech@gmail.com to exercise California privacy rights.
Do Not Track / App Tracking Transparency: Mooden is not designed to track you across third-party apps for advertising. We do not use your data for third-party ads.
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you are in a region where the digital age of consent is higher (often 16 in parts of the EU), you must be old enough under those rules, or use the App only with a parent or guardian as required by local law.
If you believe a child has provided us personal information, email support.forgetech@gmail.com and we will delete it if we have it.
Mooden is a self-reflection journal. It is not a medical device, not therapy, and not a substitute for professional care. Journal content may feel sensitive to you; we treat it as private on-device data and do not upload it to ForgeTech.
If you export CSV or PDF or share a file, you choose the destination (Files, Mail, another app). That sharing is under your control. Recipients will see whatever you send.
We do not use your journal to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
We may update this Policy. The “Last updated” date will change. Material changes will be reflected in the App copy of this Policy. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Policy, except where the law requires additional notice or consent.
You may contact us first at support.forgetech@gmail.com. If you are in the EEA or UK, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
